Toaster Ovens

This toaster oven worked for a couple of years and then one day went dead. When I opened it up to a take a look I noticed the ground wire was burned to a crisp. I couldn’t figure out if it had come dislodged and touched a hot wire or if there was a bigger problem. So I fixed the wiring and tried it again, but immediately the ground wire started smoking. I don’t even want to know what could be causing it, it’s going in the trash.
