I was reading reviews before shopping for a toast oven and remembered reading the one about the annoying beeping sounds. I could not remember though which model it was when shopping. I ended up purchasing the Delonghi DO400 and was excited to try it out. I plugged it in and then remembered it was the one with the loud beeps. Well after I came to my senses I realized that it was no louder then my microwave beeping or oven timer. It also was very easy to adjust the toaster level from defaut L4 to L1, seriously easy as 1,2,3. I felt compelled to let people know this, because that video demonstrating the use and loudness is really a little dramatic. It is a very nice looking oven, easy to use and I am happy I made the purchase.

I’ve owned a few toaster ovens over the years and this is a very well designed and just all around great toaster oven. Plenty of room and I like how it’s easy to use, easy to set time and temperature. Heats up quickly and I like the dual, upper/lower heating method.

The default settings make it easy to get started. The toast feature makes it easy to either quickly make toast or just warm up frozen waffles. I use the default 4 for toast, 3 for frozen waffles, and 1 or 2 to warm up a biscuit or two. No more fumbling around with a dial to try and get it in between markings…

It has a longer than usual 90 minute timer and it shuts off automatically when it’s done with five chimes, just great. Looks great too!

This is a nice, roomy, handsome toaster oven, but as in everything, handsome is as handsome does. I have had this toaster oven for only a couple of years, and it wasn’t until I burned the toast that I realized that the timer bell was ringing but the timer didn’t stop, moved on toward the “ON” slot, and the elements heated up again. I decided it was possible to remove the toast when the bell rang, shut the door, and not notice that the elements were heating up again. A DEFINITE FIRE HAZARD. I knew I could unplug the toaster immediately after every use, but I was afraid I or house guests might forget to take that precautionary, essential step. This total failure came as a big disappointment, because this malfunction came on so soon. I wonder if a digital timer would be more reliable. Or maybe it’s time to return to the time-honored pop-up!

bought mine from Bloomingdales for about $60 about 1.5 yrs ago. It stopped working on me last week. I don’t know why.
what i liked was the easy clean catch tray. the height had been less, it probably would have cooked toast faster. Think’ll I”ll go back to black & Decker’s $20 models when they come on sale again.

We bought this toaster about two months ago, after much research. Our old one was a simple, cheap one from Sunbeam, which lasted about ten years until the lever for toast broke.
I never really wanted a “convection” toaster, but I decided to give it a try because I thought it might save energy when baking. It actually does a very fast job at that, much more efficient than the regular oven we used before.
I used the broiler just once so far and it works well.
Toast is very good: crunchy on the outside, moist inside (but that depends on taste). One gripe is with the knobs, which are hard to grab. The design of the knob is especially annoying in the timer, because it just sort of slides to the desired time, there’s no way of precisely selecting the position, like a good stereo knob would. We haven’t quite found the best spot on the timer for the perfect toast, I’m having to rely on visual clues and often just take the toast out before the timer rings.
The tray is easy to clean and slides out conveniently.
The hooks on the door hinges that make the rack slide out make it difficult to close the door completely - we decided to fold ours in and not use them, so the door closes correctly.
Be diligent when shopping for this item, prices vary widely from place to place and you may overpay.

Like the first reviewer, we also had a bad experience with a lesser model from Black & Decker and were afraid to try another one. Finding her review permitted us to take a chance and boy are we glad we did. This oven has completely lived up to all of its specs: fits a 12″ pizza without issue, is great for chicken breasts and breakfast meats, actually toasts toast, and doesnt heat up the whole house like the full size oven. We are particularly happy with how well it does frozen items like tots so quickly with the convection oven. It is very easy to use, but like the original reviewer said it is very loud. It would be great to be able to disable or turn down the audible alarms, but this small thing is well worth dealing with compared to how well it works. We highly recommend this to any family. It is being used nearly every day and we have had it for 3 months now.

It should be noted that the outside does get quite hot, so care has to be taken when this is in reach of a young one. However, from the research we have done, it seems that most of these small tosters do get hot. To avoid this, it seems one has to spend considerably more money.

I’ve had toaster ovens for years and was never pleased with the job they did baking. This one is great! Toast comes out perfect as I’d expect but I can pop in biscuits or any other small thing and it bakes them great! No more heating up a big oven for one or two small things.

I did have one problem. The first one i recived freaked out on me and had to be unplugged to be turned off during toasting twice. Macyes sent out a replacement ASAP and there have been no problems with the second one (stuff happens).

This unit has received a bad rap on this site. It is possible to set timer for less than 20 minutes and it is possible make toast without burning it. Control knob is a bit stiff to begin with and the unit is not as intuitive as other models I’ve used, but if you bother to read the very brief directions you shouldn’t have any trouble at all. As a matter of fact, this unit makes much better toast than other brands I have tried. It is also very handsome unit and looks good in a kitchen with stainless steel appliances. I can’t speak to the broiler function because I really would never use a toaster oven to broil.

The unit worked OK for the first year. Toast is NOT it’s strong suit as toasting is very uneven and the top toasting pattern seldom looks like the bottom. After about 8 months I had trouble getting the door to close completely, very annoying. Then about a month ago it lost all ability to control the degree of heat. No matter what setting it is on the unit defaults to FULL BLAST. First noticed when my smoke alarm went off after a bagel was incinerated beyond recognition!
Currently resides in my trash can……

This product is all that it was described to be. I have used it many times and for various tasks, toast, baking potatos, muffins. It works great. I like the fact that I don’t have to turn my normal stove oven on when it is warm outside, this toaster oven doesn’t heat up my house as much as the normal oven on a stove would. Very easy to clean.
