#1 target black and decker toaster oven Site
I loved this thing when I first bought it, but I should have read the other reviews because the are 100% correct. It toast unevenly but I accepted that. What I don’t accept is the oven function not working anymore so now it just works as a toaster. What a piece of junk.

oster 6056 toaster oven Tips And More
I have been looking for a new toaster oven for a long time now. I spent hours, on various sites including Amazon, reading reviews. I don’t recall this toaster oven (pictured above - Oster with brushed stainless steel and manual knobs) on Amazon at the time I looked and could not find one I liked. I ended up finding this one at Target for about $50.00 on sale. I took a chance and bought it. What a deal. I have used toaster ovens for the last 15 years (I don’t own a microwave) and this one is my favorite. It is not too big and not too small. A pizza does fit. Many of my regular baking pans fit. The confection feature makes things heat faster. The best part is that it does not get crazy hot like some reviews on other toaster ovens mentions. IT DOES GET VERY VERY HOT, but all toaster ovens do, as far as I know. But this one is not going to melt your painted cabinets - and mine are somewhat close to the oven. I am very happy and think it is a good buy. Note: I don’t use it for toast.

black and decker toaster oven tro490w Helpful Roadmap
Like other reviews:
1) Timer would not automatically shut off for toast when turned to a light setting. Dark setting would burn, I mean BURN, the toast (intense smoke, smoke detectors alarming, etc.)
2) The toaster got so hot that the oven gloves, and pot holders, actually started to smolder and smoke (I had them setting on top the device like I did with my former toaster for the last 20 years.)
3) To make it worse, the chumps at Target would not take it back.

We had the el cheapo Black & Decker toaster oven for about 4 or 5 years and it served us well until the temp. knob went a little wonky and wouldn’t work. We thought we’d go a little fancier for our next toaster oven without going Cuisinart fancy. We got this Oster at Target because it seemed like what we wanted - big mistake!
Our old toaster over just had a lever for toasting. On this one, you have to turn the knob and pick a number of minutes to toast. Somehow I always get it wrong and my toast is charred or undercooked. I miss the lever!
If the rack is in the top position it’s REALLY close to the top elements and it’s really easy to burn your hand if you reach in to grab your toast or whatever. I have burned my hand a few times. Never had this problem with the old one.
And even with the rack on the top slot, I find this burns the bottoms of my son’s chicken nuggets.
I hate this thing. I can’t give it 0 stars because it does work, but I think I liked the old cheapie B&D a lot more. My biggest gripe is the toasting - my husband says lets just get a normal toaster, too, then but I don’t want another appliance on my counters. I just wish this thing would die so we could replace it.

black and decker space maker toaster oven information and auctions!
I purchased our toaster earlier this week before having read any reviews about it here. I reviewed many, many other toasters/ovens on Amazon, then went to Target with a couple in mind that were in stock. In general, I’m extremely disappointed in the quality of all toasters/toaster ovens out there right now. They felt like cheap aluminum boxes mass produced in China. Our Krups toaster oven has been with us for 10 or 15 years and was wonderful. In any case, while getting disgusted at what Target did have available, around the corner in the aisle with all the Black and Decker Spacesaver items I found this toaster and with a good sale price.
I get it home, quickly come here and see horror story after horror story. I’m wondering if I should even open the box or just take it back to Target immediately. Well, luckily I ignored the reviews here. Our Spacesaver can opener has been wonderful and I was going to give this toaster a shot.
Having been forewarned about all the problems and headaches others have had with installation, I read all the instructions, took my time, laid everything out, checked, double checked and even triple checked before drilling any holes. Everything installed fine - no problems whatsoever. I didn’t need 4 hands, extra spacers, longer screws, and didn’t have any issues which others bring up. The instructions are fairly clear, and for anything which wasn’t, anyone with some spacial acumen can figure out how things need to fit together. The instruction booklet was also very clear that if you needed additional spacers, to simply call them and they’d send them free of charge.
So, the toaster was installed a few days ago and looks beautiful in the location of our old toaster oven, but we now find ourselves with more counter space - just wonderful. A couple days go by and finally someone wants a toasted bagel for breakfast. Instead of blindly setting the knob for how long to toast and walking away, we did the unthinkable - we watched it toast to get an idea of how long it takes. The reason people are saying it burns their toast is because the heating elements are powerful and it toasts quickly. What’s the big deal with that? Our Krups toaster oven had two heating elements on the top and two on the bottom. I was slightly concerned because this one has only one on the top and one on the bottom - however, these are thicker, they heat up extremely quickly, and they are more powerful. So, we made a guess how long we should set the timer, watched, and turned it off when done - just a tad shorter than we estimated. It also toasted evenly - no complaints.
Long story short - ignore the reviews here that do nothing but complain.
1. Read all the instructions when installing
2. Double and triple check location of holes and hood before drilling
3. First few times cooking with it, watch how long things take before being bold enough to set the timer and walk away. It’s powerful - that’s a good thing.
