I’ve had this oven for SIX YEARS, and it has been a Blessing for one with limited mobility, such as myself. It has operated worry-free, cooking my meals to perfection without supervision, especially when I am unable to be in the kitchen, so I rarely use my full-size oven any more. The convection feature requires a good power source to work safely, but it performs extremely well. It did especially well this past Thanksgiving when my out-of-town guests were arriving and the turkey still was not quite done. I turned on the convector, and wow, the turkey cooked fully in 1/3 the amount of time.

Pros: It can cook up to a 10 pound turkey; Cooks multiple items in the oven simultaneously; Accepts all types of baking dishes; Energy Saver: Oven cools off as the cooking process ends; The timer is easily heard from several different rooms. Excellent for people with mobility issues: Easy to turn knobs, good visibility through oven door; place on countertop for easy input/retrieval of food.

Caution: Works like regular electric oven. Use quality potholders and oven mitts to avoid burns.

I plan to buy another Hamilton Beach model when this one needs replacing.

I got rid of my microwave back in 2004 because I would rather cook food fresh and I wanted to save some counter space. Over the years, I would waste a lot of energy heating up an entire oven to cook 10 chicken nuggets or heating up leftovers. I wanted something that cooks like an oven but used less energy. If this is what you are looking for, this is the perfect product for you. I got it for Christmas in 2008 and I have been using it everyday since. Actually, I can’t remember the last time I used my regular oven. I am a married with two children and attend college full time. This product makes cooking healthy meals more convenient and more efficent. It cooks the food evenly and one third quicker than a regular oven. I love it, and like my dishwasher, I cannot imagine my life without it! This is a great way to use less energy, while still having the benefits of a real oven. Great for people living in limited space, or are wanting to live a “greener lifestyle”.

I haven’t yet gotten the knack of making toast in it (which I assumed would be the simplest thing), but it seems to work best when pre-heated for all uses - even toast. It heats up pretty quickly and does a good job with small items like side dishes. If you don’t preheat, though, whatever you’re trying to cook will just dry out during the heating process.

The oven works just fine but the up top toaster does not work well. Small food like frozen waffles slide down to the oven. Irritating.

I cannot tell you how happy I am with my hamilton beach six slice convection toaster oven. Man, this thing is getting better and better as I learn more about it.

The top heating implement stopped working 15 months after purchase, just in time for the 1 year warranty to expire. Customer Service at Kitchenaid only handles replacement of the whole unit, not parts, so repairing the thing isnt possible. This was an overpriced, no-frills unit capitalizing on its trusted brand name. Big disappointment.

Hamilton beach 31199R countertop oven. Love the oven…Now that I have, thanks to another reviewer, discovered that the oven runs about 50F over the setting on convection, it works great. I simply set the oven for 300F when I want 350F…very easy fix.
