We purchased this model around 2004 or so. It performs it’s cooking and timing chores very well, BUT you can tell how hot the exterior gets by the fact that a third of the paint has chipped on the face (sides are still OK), making it very hard to keep looking clean. Basically, it looks as though a roast exploded on the inside and face of the unit. We can’t get it clean - and even if we could, it still looks really bad with all the paint cracks and chips missing.
The convection fan has always been noisy. Definitely would not recommend to anyone because of the cosmetic appearance (unless you want to keep it in your basement or garage).

black and decker toaster oven cto6301 Resources Blog
I have owned this oven for 3 months now after our 12 yr old Cuisinart died. I chose Black & Decker because it would hold a 9×13 pan and 6 pieces of toast, and was half the price of a new Cuisinart. We use this oven for baking or toasting every day. I have never broiled meat in it, but it broils vegetables just fine. It toasts okay and bakes evenly. If you bake in a large pan you need to turn it around half-way through the baking time. Cakes, brownies, chicken, pork chops, casseroles, etc. come out just fine.
The oven has a crumb tray that pulls out from the front. The cooking rack can be adjusted in 4 different positions. The door handle stays cool even if the oven has been on for 1+ hours. The convection fan is much quieter than our old Cuisinart. The oven is only 2 inches longer than our old Cuisinart and the depth and height are the same. So you get a much larger cooking space for the same footprint. It comes with a nice heavy 9×12 pan and round pizza pan. Being able to use the toaster oven with a large pan(instead of the large range) is a blessing in our southern summer heat.
Now for the not so good… The control buttons are flimsy, cheap plastic. They sit crooked and feel wobbly when you press them. And every time you press a button it beeps VERY LOUDLY. This oven is very complicated to use. You have to press multiple buttons every time you use it. To convection bake you must press Bake, Conv, Temp (to adjust) and then Start. Only after the oven preheats can you set the timer. You can’t use it without setting the timer. If you do, it remembers the amount of time used during its last cycle and will only stay on for that long. To toast you must press Toast, Temp (to adjust) and then Start. The toaster’s timer is pre-programmed by temp.
The exterior of this appliance is not stainless. I don’t know what it is. I set a warm pie plate on top and now the oven is marked with black streaks that will not clean off. The interior is slick black metal, I think. The rack seems to be stainless. I don’t think the included pans are stainless. This oven will truly hold a 9×13 pan if it does not have handles. Although advertised to hold a 12-inch pizza, it will not hold our 12-inch pizza stone. The oven’s highest bake temp is 450 degrees.
I expected more quality for the price. This oven should have cost $45 tops. When it breaks, and I’m sure it will within the first year - I’m going to buy a Cuisinart. I’ve learned it’s worth the extra money to get quality, ease of use, and reliability.

black & decker toaster oven cto4500s Free Helpful Article
We bought this toaster about two months ago, after much research. Our old one was a simple, cheap one from Sunbeam, which lasted about ten years until the lever for toast broke.
I never really wanted a “convection” toaster, but I decided to give it a try because I thought it might save energy when baking. It actually does a very fast job at that, much more efficient than the regular oven we used before.
I used the broiler just once so far and it works well.
Toast is very good: crunchy on the outside, moist inside (but that depends on taste). One gripe is with the knobs, which are hard to grab. The design of the knob is especially annoying in the timer, because it just sort of slides to the desired time, there’s no way of precisely selecting the position, like a good stereo knob would. We haven’t quite found the best spot on the timer for the perfect toast, I’m having to rely on visual clues and often just take the toast out before the timer rings.
The tray is easy to clean and slides out conveniently.
The hooks on the door hinges that make the rack slide out make it difficult to close the door completely - we decided to fold ours in and not use them, so the door closes correctly.
Be diligent when shopping for this item, prices vary widely from place to place and you may overpay.

I’ve had this oven for SIX YEARS, and it has been a Blessing for one with limited mobility, such as myself. It has operated worry-free, cooking my meals to perfection without supervision, especially when I am unable to be in the kitchen, so I rarely use my full-size oven any more. The convection feature requires a good power source to work safely, but it performs extremely well. It did especially well this past Thanksgiving when my out-of-town guests were arriving and the turkey still was not quite done. I turned on the convector, and wow, the turkey cooked fully in 1/3 the amount of time.
Pros: It can cook up to a 10 pound turkey; Cooks multiple items in the oven simultaneously; Accepts all types of baking dishes; Energy Saver: Oven cools off as the cooking process ends; The timer is easily heard from several different rooms. Excellent for people with mobility issues: Easy to turn knobs, good visibility through oven door; place on countertop for easy input/retrieval of food.
Caution: Works like regular electric oven. Use quality potholders and oven mitts to avoid burns.
I plan to buy another Hamilton Beach model when this one needs replacing.

delonghi large capacity 6 slice toaster oven Free Assistive Guide
I’ve had this very oven for about 3 years with no problems. However, my heavy-handed husband has broken the middle dial (the one that sets the timer or turns on until you turn it off). He didn’t know it was unplugged and used force on the knob unnecessarily. I am in search of a replacement of the same (stainless - not black), but it’s been hard to find. So, I thought I’d try another model, but everything out there seems to be convection (which I do not want); does not have the interior light (which is WONDERFUL!!); and/or does not pop-out the tray/rack when you open the oven door (DELIGHTFUL FEATURE). So, I’ve become spoiled and am now on the hunt for the same Delonghi that I had. The cool sides are great. The size is perfect. You can cook everything from a whole chicken to a full-sized pizza, and the interior light keeps you from having to open the door too much to check on the food’s progress. My only complaint would be that I would have liked to receive two oven racks instead of one in the box; one for the bottom and one for the top, so that I can bake two levels at the same time. Even so, I give it a 5-star.

Best deals for cuisinart tob 165 toaster oven
This appliance does a lot of things. To do this the control choices can be complex. It is not an appliance that is intuitive to use in my opinion. That said, I have baked, convection baked, toasted, and broiled on this oven successfully. It fits my need of living as a single person in an apartment perfectly. READ THE MANUAL, don’t just give it a quick overlook and dive in.
Broiling for example. Don’t forget to do the warm up sequence with the door closed,(It will alarm when it hits broiling temperature) don’t forget to put the 1/4 cup of water in the drip tray. Don’t forget to open the door of the oven to the first 1 inch detent to vent the oven after you put the meat in. Don’t forget to also set your timer for the amount of time to cook one side, flip your meat, then set the timer for the remaining time. This procedure is why there is not an automatic off for the broiling option. On the other hand, since it toasts both sides of the bread, it has a timing shut off function for toast.
